    Rutherford Regional Health System (RRHS) is bringing additional primary care options to Rutherfordton, opening Rutherford Family Care on NC-108 in the former office of Dr. James Vanjura and Dr. Scott Lawrence, both who retired prior to this year. “We are excited to bring new life to a long-standing family medicine clinic here in Rutherfordton,” said Tory Shepherd, CEO of RRHS. “This practice has been a well-known staple in our community, and we look forward to continuing to provide exceptional care opportunities for the residents of Rutherfordton by adding this location to our network of family care clinics across the county.”

  • RRHS welcomes Dr. Keeler, new OB-GYN Provider

    "I've delivered a lot of babies," said Dr. Timothy Keeler, OB-GYN, through a reminiscent smile. "I certainly remember a lot of deliveries because of the excitement involved or the relationship I had with the family." Building relationships is Keeler's favorite part of his job, and he said he is looking forward to building new relationships with patients across Rutherford County as he joins the Rutherford Premier Women's Care team.

    The nurses of Rutherford Regional Health System (RRHS) put on their scrubs and clock in each day not knowing what their shift might hold. There is one thing, though, that each nurse knows is on his or her to-do list every day – to care. “I’ve wanted to be a nurse since I was a little girl,” said Cherish Anderson, RN and team lead in the Emergency Department. “I just love people, I love to show people that I care, and I love to be able to help them in their time of need.”

  • RRHS brings advanced cardiac procedure close to home with new PCI program

    February 24, 2023

    PCI, or percutaneous coronary intervention, is a procedure used to open up a blocked or narrowed artery, helping alleviate chest pains and reduce the risk of a heart attack for the patient. Rutherford Regional Health System (RRHS) officially launched their PCI program as part of their expanding advanced cardiology services this week, bringing a procedure previously only available outside the are closer to home for its patients.

    Rutherford Regional Health System (RRHS) has named a locally-grown health leader as its Chief Nursing Officer – Jamie Hill. Hill, a native of Rutherford County, began her career at RRHS in 2014 as a charge nurse in the Emergency Department. She worked her way up from there, most recently serving as the Director of Emergency Services at RRHS.
