Rutherford Regional Health System today announced that Dietrich Kayser, MD, has joined its staff and will be offering orthopedic services to patients throughout the county. Dr. Kayser brings extensive experience in orthopedic care, with a background in both military and civilian practice settings.

Prior to joining Rutherford Regional, Dr. Kayser served as an attending orthopedic surgeon at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, home to the second-largest medical center in the U.S. Air Force. He managed a wide variety of general orthopedic cases and honed his leadership skills.

Dr. Kayser earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and went on to complete a residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Chemistry from Presbyterian College.

Dr. Kayser is now seeing patients at Rutherford Orthopedics, located at 139 Doctor Henry Norris Drive in Rutherfordton. He specializes in general orthopedics, robotic-assisted knee replacements, anterior hip replacements, arthroscopic surgery, and fracture care.
