Sudandra Ratnasamy

Chief Executive Officer

Sudandra Ratnasamy brings over 20 years of healthcare leadership experience with a strong focus on operational performance, clinical quality, and team development. Known for building collaborative, high-performing teams, she has held executive roles across the Southeast and is deeply committed to community-based care.

Prior to joining Rutherford Regional, she served as CEO of Twin County Regional Healthcare in Virginia. In 2023, she was recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review as one of the “Women Hospital Presidents and CEOs to Know.” Sudandra holds a BS in Nursing from the University of Central Florida and an MBA from Columbia College. She is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and has been active in organizations such as the American Lung Association and Operation Helping Hand.

Michael Steffan, DNP, RN

Interim Chief Nursing Officer

Michael Steffan, DNP, RN, brings more than 25 years of progressive nursing and healthcare leadership experience, most recently serving as Assistant Chief Nursing Officer at Frye Regional Medical Center.

He holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Touro University Nevada, a Master of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University, and additional degrees in nursing and kinesiology. He is committed to supporting caregivers and delivering safe, high-quality, and compassionate care to every patient we serve.

Allen Clayton

Chief Financial Officer

Allen Clayton joined Rutherford Regional Health System as interim chief financial officer (CFO) in January 2024 and was announced the permanent role in April 2024. Allen was previously the Assistant CFO at Frye Regional Medical Center, where he served in that capacity for 18 years.

Allen has a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with an emphasis on Accounting from Furman University. Additionally, he is affiliated with the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).
