Rutherford Regional Health System proudly celebrates Doctors Day 2017 by recognizing our doctors for all the amazing roles they play each and every day. Our doctors are the face of caring in our community. On behalf of the staff, administration and nurses, Rutherford Regional thanks our doctors for the commitments they make and the lives they touch.
Doctors Day was first celebrated March 30, 1933, when Eudora Brown Almond, wife of Dr. Charles B. Almond, set a day aside to honor physicians. From those beginnings in Winder, Georgia, the celebration spread, and the House and Senate officially declared March 30 “National Doctors Day” in 1990. Our hope is that our community members will take a moment to think about the role their providers play in their lives, and that they will join us in expressing their gratitude to these men and women who sacrifice so much for our health and well-being on a daily basis.
Our doctors are heroes, and practicing medicine is a special calling. They carry a tremendous responsibility and they do so with courage under great demands. Rutherford Regional Health System is blessed to count more than 100 doctors among our medical staff and it is our honor to recognize our heroes on Doctors Day 2017.
