RUTHERFORDTON – Cindy Buck, president and chief executive officer of Rutherford Regional Health System (RRHS), has been named one of “130 Women Hospital and Health System Leaders To Know” by  Becker's Hospital Review of Chicago, IL. This annual list recognizes female leaders of hospitals and health systems across the country. Mrs. Buck was one of only four female healthcare leaders in North Carolina to be recognized.

Becker’s says of the recognition, “The women featured in this list have demonstrated a proven ability to lead their respective organizations in midst of healthcare's challenging environment. They have demonstrated considerable skill and promise despite times of uncertainty and unprecedented change in the industry. As a result, the Becker's Hospital Review editorial team finds these CEOs, CFOs, COOs and other executives as women to watch now and in years to come.”

The Becker's Hospital Review editorial team included hospital and health system leaders based on a number of factors, including awards they have won and hospital or health system performance. The team also reviewed previous Becker's Hospital Review lists.

Ms. Buck was named CEO of RRHS in September 2012, having first served as CFO of the 143-bed hospital since 2011. Previously, she was CFO of Nevada (Mo.) Regional Medical Center for eight years.
