Rebecca Segal has served as Chief Executive Officer for Rutherford Regional Health System since January 2017. Prior to her arrival at RRHS, she was chief operating officer (COO) of Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital (LCRH) in Somerset, Ky. She previously served as Assistant Administrator for two LifePoint facilities: Danville Regional Medical Center in Danville, VA., and Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, W.VA. Before joining LifePoint, she served as a senior analyst in the managed care and reimbursement department and as a manager in the patient access and patient accounts departments at Mary Washington Healthcare System in Fredericksburg, VA.
Rebecca has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg and a Master of Health Administration (MHA) from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA.
During her graduate studies Rebecca received the prestigious Herman L. Mullins Award for Outstanding Management Study.
John is Rutherford Regional’s Chief Financial Officer and has worked in healthcare since 2005. His experience in hospital finance includes areas such as: general ledger, tax, payroll, accounts payable, fixed assets, inventory, revenue cycle, productivity, leases, case management, materials management, and internal audit. Prior to coming to Rutherford Regional in July 2015, his responsibilities included oversight for the financial operations of two hospitals in Tennessee. John’s rise to the position of Chief Financial Officer with Community Health Systems was accelerated after completing its executive leadership training program.
John holds his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee at Martin, then completed his accounting requirements from Middle Tennessee State University and holds a Master of Science in Business Administration from University of North Alabama.
Chris and his wife Marissa have four children and have been married since March 2011. Along with California, Chris has lived in Pennsylvania, Fiji, Hawaii, Texas, Utah and now North Carolina. He currently works as the Assistant Administrator and Ethics and Compliance Officer at Rutherford Regional Health System. Before moving to NC, Chris was working at Castleview Hospital in Price, Utah where he completed his residency for his Masters of healthcare administration from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. Before getting his Masters, he worked as an Associate at KPMG, LLC in the Accounting Methods and Credits Services department.
He also attended the Brigham Young University of Hawaii, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management / Finance and a minor in Biology. After high school, Chris attended Penn State University for two years where he played Water polo. He then spent two years as an ecclesiastical missionary in Fiji, and is fluent in the native Fijian language.
Lance is currently serving as Interim Chief Nursing Officer for Rutherford Regional Health System since December 2019. Prior to this position he served as Surgical Services Director and Emergency Room Director at Rutherford Regional Health System. Lance has been with Rutherford Regional since 2008.
Lance received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from West Virginia University and Master of Science in Nursing from Gardner-Webb University. Lance is currently working on Master of Business Administration.
